Managing Partner and Lead Trainer – Lesley O’Brien
Lesley has over 30 years’ experience working in the transport industry. She has worked for multinational and national haulage businesses and within the pallet network. She is currently an active partner and business owner at Bradford haulage business Freightlink Europe as well as being the Managing Partner at Freight Train. Lesley is also an Executive Board and Regional Council member for the Road Haulage Association (RHA) and a member of the Yorkshire Maintenance Advisory Committee, discussing best practice within the industry alongside other industry experts such as the DVLA and the North West Traffic Commissioner, Mr Kevin Rooney.
Lesley brings a wealth of experience and up to date industry knowledge to Freight Train’s consultancy and Driver CPC Periodic Training courses. She demonstrates a passionate for working with drivers and Transport Managers, promoting drivers as a transport operator’s vital resource – protecting the Transport Manager’s good repute, the operator’s licence, the driver’s licence and, as a result, the livelihood of all employees.

Andrew Drewary – FCILT MAIRSO AMRSGB
Andrew is a multi-award winning* road safety professional with over 18 years’ experience in collision and incident investigation and analysis. He has managed the investigation and analysis process of many thousands of road traffic collisions and used the results to provide bespoke, innovative and inter-active road safety solutions for fleet operators. Through engagement with employers and employees and a focus on Driver health and wellbeing and robustly managed work related road risk policies, Andrew has been able to provide substantial savings for customers.
His knowledge of road risk prevention methods means that Andrew is a regular speaker at national fleet, logistics and road safety conferences.
Andrew keeps up to date with transport industry development as an active member of the CILT National Transport & Logistic Safety Forum, FTA North West Council, FTA Transport Safety Group, the road safety charity BRAKE, is a FORS practitioner and an inaugural member of the Global Fleet Champions Committee aimed at reducing road fatalities globally.
In Freight Train’s module 10 ‘Road Safety, Answering the Awkward Questions’, Andrew asks the questions that transport operators and Drivers should ask themselves in order to ensure safety on our roads.

Garry is an ex Police Sergeant and has worked for West Yorkshire Police for over 30 years. Semi-retired, Garry currently holds the post of Investigative Officer.
Garry is a law enforcement professional who is passionate and experienced in topics such as road safety, collision investigation, drugs and alcohol, field impairment testing and advanced driving.
During the latter period of Garry’s employment as Police Sergeant Garry enjoyed the position of Senior Investigating Officer in the Major Collision Enquiry Team (MCET), dealing with fatal road traffic collisions within the force.
Garry brings this wealth of knowledge, experience and advice to Freight Train’s driver CPC training courses as well as advising companies on incident collision investigation and prevention.
Garry enjoys working in the community and presents on road safety education and awareness to school children from the ages of 11 to 18.
Ian is a director of Freightsafe and external consultant at Freight Train. Ian has been a qualified Dangerous Goods Safety Advisor (DGSA) and delivered training on safety in handling hazardous goods since 2006. With a career steeped in the chemical industry since 1978 and a BSc in Environmental Chemistry, Ian brings expertise in the hazardous industry to the Freight Train portfolio of training.
Ian’s interests are his family, hill walking and Indian cuisine.
